This past Friday, Nov. 16th, my lovely roommate Lindsay and I went to volunteer at Elkland Art Center for the day! We began the day repairing old props and decorations, then ate lunch with the entire group, and final ended the day by working on props for the nativity scene project/procession coming soon! I loved helping out and being given a chance to express myself artistically. It was a very calming atmosphere to work in. It was also nice to talk and spend time with Martha and the other Elkland staff.
I drew the camel and also helped with some of the other cut outs. We all laughed and had such a great time making the animal figures. The people of Elkland Art Center care a great deal about the community of Todd. They all just want to see the town grow and prosper. I love being a part of this community and helping out with fun events. I consider myself extremely lucky to be here!
Feel free to come help volunteer on Nov. 30th and Dec. 7th from 10am-5pm. Stay however long you can. We would love some more bright and smiling faces to join us!
