The Blackburn House is an old parsonage that has been converted into living spaces for five people wanting to figure out how to live in intentional community. It is connected to Blackburn’s Chapel, a Methodist church in the mountains outside Boone, North Carolina with whom the Blackburn House will worship and serve. We hope to build strong relationships within the church and the community.
This year the four of us, Erin, Kristen, Lauren and Lindsay R. along with the mentor and program director Lindsey L., will try to learn what it means to be in community with each other and with the town of Todd where we live. It is our hope that through the struggles and joys of being in community we might be shown what it means to live out the gospel and be thrown into the current of what God is already doing in Todd. This blog is a place to share those struggles and joys and hopefully offer and receive advice on living in community and discerning our ministerial vocations.
